Chairman’s report for April 2017

Litter-picking Canon Pyon

Geoffrey on his own one way, Hugh and Philippa the other, Leonard (now 6) and I starting with the car park and playing fields – a select turn-out but we still managed ten full bags.
Leonard tunnelled right into the thick bushes in the far corner by the BMX track, and this is where we really hit the jackpot.

If only we could get out the message of how exciting litter picking is for children – it is like going hunting – looking for the glimmer of a can and swooping in with the picker…
Don’t forget we have all the kit for any budding pickers to borrow, and you can do it any time you like!

Local footpaths

As previously mentioned, we have a healthy budget for maintenance of public rights of way, and we are keen to publicise the locations, and get more people using them. There is a new link on the pyonsgroup website where you can see a map of them, and we are hoping to get some more information/pictures on the footpaths page.
Don’t forget, you can upload your own comments and pictures of your walks to the pyonsgroup facebook page.

By the time you read this, if you live in the parishes, you should have been delivered a spring edition of our newsletter. We hope you find it informative, and welcome any comments you may have.
